My name is Liz Craven. I am the editor and publisher of Sage Aging ElderCare Guide along with my husband, Wes Craven. Choosing care for yourself or a loved one is a daunting task. We understand. We have been there.
Our family first faced this more than thirty years ago when Wes’ grandmother Mabel, who was suffering from Alzheimer’s, needed more care than the family could provide. Overwhelmed and a bit scared, the family embarked on a search for information and care. We learned some important things in that process and did, indeed, find good care for Mabel. Through our experience we realized other families were struggling with the same lack of access to information and guidance, so we decided to do something about it.
We designed Sage Aging ElderCare Guide with families in mind. It was created to not only lead people to good resources but give them the tools and education necessary to make quality choices about senior living and care options for themselves or loved ones.
A companion to the printed guide, this website provides more in-depth information, additional articles, an extensive searchable directory, videos (coming soon), and links to helpful websites to help you in your search for information and resources. And don’t forget to check out our newest informative tool by listening to the Sage Aging Podcast, hosted by yours truly.
It is our sincere hope that our printed guide, website, and podcast will make the information gathering process easier and less stressful for you on your aging and/or caregiving journey.
